How do I get child support?
Texas courts typically order child support to be paid in an amount consistent with the guidelines for calculating child support as set out in the Texas Family Code. Once the Court orders a party to pay child support, the Court typically orders the employer of the party to pay child support to withhold child support from the party's pay check. The money is paid to the Attorney General of the state of Texas, Child Support Division, located in San Antonio, Texas. The child support is then paid to the party entitled to receive child support as per the Court's order.
